The 2014 Halloween Countdown Begins
Posted: August 8, 2014 Filed under: Halloween 17 CommentsToday, August 8th, is just 12 Fridays before Halloween.
(Yep – Halloween falls on a Friday this year!)
Show your love of Halloween, autumn and late summer – AND drive your friends crazy – by sharing the above image on your social media sites this week.
In honor of the date, I’ve refined, expanded and updated the Halloween Countdown post:
A Portable ‘Countdown to Halloween’ Checklist
~ timely reminders of things to do now and through autumn.
You really can start using the checklist now, during these remaining hot and sultry weeks of summer.

The calendar caught me surprise this year, and I entirely missed posting the first countdown link last week. I’ve been in a mad scramble ever since, but now I’m in the swing of things.
Though I didn’t get it updated in time for posting last Friday, the list
13 movies set on or around Halloween
is good to go now.

which is also freshly updated.
There I tell reveal a little bit about a new feature coming to the blog that looks like this:
Reblogged this on theowlladyblog.
I KNEW it was time to decorate for Halloween!
Getting close anyway. Certainly time to think about what we want to do. This is one of the times I miss having a yard … there’s only so much one can do with an apartment. I might do some gorilla decorating in public spaces this year though.
For my magic based book I am thinking Something Wicked This way Comes.
Excellent choice. I might do do Practical Magic. I also just downloaded Garden Spells from Audible so that someone can read a magical tale to me 🙂
Practical Magic is one of my favorite books of all time … better and different than the movie!
Shut up! You have NO idea how excited this just got me! Except it made me realize how not prepared I am! 🙂
I just adore you, Patrick. My Halloween Soul Mate 🙂

[…] podcast content and less “blog” this summer. But I’m super excited, because as The Paranormalist reminded us this weekend, the Halloween countdown has begun… and I’m excited to share […]
I have always put up my halloween decorations and my beloved halloween village on 10/1 but now I’m thinking 9/15 wouldn’t be to crazy.
Oh, I’ve always wanted one of those. I have friends and family with the Christmas villages and I love those too. Still, it feels like if I had one, it should be Halloween. If I did, I’m pretty sure it would go up before October 🙂
I have already started, yesterday i watched some of my collection of the TV show “A haunting” last night “the Changling was viewed and at this moment “Exorcism of Emily Rose” is playing to be followed by “the lady in black” LOL My six foot mummy is dusted off and ready for the porch, Santa’s head is removed and ready for the silver platter. (plastic, singing and dancing Santa for those panicking at the idea). and I am gathering Halloween stories to post on my blog for folks into that kind of thing.
if only the year ended with Halloween, which means it would also start with Halloween. sigh… if only.
I still love that you bring Santa into the mix, Joe.
I think you’re a bit ahead of me … I need to make more time to watch movies this year.
I feel that the more holiday decorations you can repurpose the better. why should a giant bunny suit only get used once a year, they cost alot so dress up that skeleton, throw in a bloody basket and viola.
All hail the Queen of Halloween!!!
Aww. Flattery will get you everywhere, Hunter.
