1st Jack O Lantern of the season & the twisted ding dong ditch gift prototype.

If you’ve been following along for the last few weeks, you know I intended to carve a Jack before October 1st. I didn’t get it done, even though I bought the pumpkin in plenty of time.

You also know that my daughter has come to town to celebrate the season with us, and that we plan to do some twisted ding dong ditch. (The twist is that we will leave behind a nice little treat.)

Tonight, my holiday really began. Instead of writing about what we’re going to do, we DID.

As I carved this guy, I felt my shoulders relax for the first time in a long time. It is good to be quiet sometimes.

Now, I’m going to go hang out with both of my kids some more 🙂
